Prior to using a Lock-N-Lift tool, please review the following instructions:
Regularly inspect products for wear [Downward deflection in the dove-tail ends of the tools and/or upward warping at the insertion hole of the weld-in plate]. Never use Lock-N-Lift products that show signs of excessive wear or damage.
Lock-N-Lift tools are to be used for Straight Lift Only! Do not drag, pull, or push.
Lock-N-Lift tools must be inserted into Lock-N-Lift #500B weld-in plates.
Angular loading should be avoided. Angular loading occurs in any lift in which the lifting force is applied at an angle to the centerline of the tool.
Lock-N-Lift products have a working load limit of four tons (8,000 lbs) with a 5:1 safety factor. DO NOT EXCEED the rated load capacity.
When more than one lifting tool is used on a single plate, a spreader bar should be used to reduce angular loading.
Always insert rigging completely through opening in lifting tool. Ensure that pins are inserted properly through eyes of shackles and/or ensure that locking hooks are locked. Shackles must have a working load limit of at least 4 tons.
